• Give Yourself Grace
As a caregiver, life’s challenges throws us off balance. Emotions run high. Anger, resentment, and guilt are at the forefront, making it difficult for caregivers to stay positive as they navigate their care journey. It is important to give yourself permission to feel these and the many other emotions you experience during your journey.
Remember that you are doing your best with the emotional equipment you have, so embrace your loved one and focus on what you can control, not what you can’t. These emotions, too, will pass and what is left behind will be the special memories you share – so give yourself grace as often as you can and embrace your caregiving journey without guilt or regret!
